To safely train others in the legal, moral, and ethical defense of one’s life and the life of others.
Origin Story
Owner & instructor Paul Williams started Cross Caliber Training as a way to encourage friends and loved ones in the emergency life saving skills and gear. He has a passion for continually learning about the ever-changing laws, techniques, gear, and case-studies. He now takes that passion & learning to the classroom.
Believing that hands-on teaching is critical to the long-term success of students, he has invested in tools & techniques to bring the next level of instruction to each student.
MISSION: To safely train others in the legal, moral, and ethical defense of one’s life and the life of others.
We recognize the god-given right to life, and the natural right to defend life from those who would take it wrongfully.
“The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes…. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”
– Thomas Jefferson, Commonplace Book (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria), 1774-1776
The 4 F Principles:
Faith – We follow the one who created all things, prioritizing his calling for us in this life, and looking forward to eternity with Him in the next.
Freedom – We recognize the God-given right to life, and the natural right to defend against those who would take it wrongfully.
Firearms – We train in our chosen tool to defend life, using it only as a last-resort. But we will make it a viable last-resort.
First-aid – We learn how to bring healing to those in need through training in trauma care.
We believe firearm safety education promotes responsible handling and storage of firearms, emphasizing the importance of faith in one’s ability to uphold safety principles. It upholds the freedom to bear arms while stressing the necessity of knowledge and skill in their use. Integrating first-aid training within firearm safety courses ensures individuals are equipped to respond effectively to any unforeseen accidents, fostering a culture of preparedness and responsibility.
